Traffic Roads—Officers checked on a disabled vehicle off to the side of the road and found that the driver had run out of gas. They were receiving assistance from a good Samaritan. Officers came back later to find the vehicle had successfully made it to the gas station. |

Welfare Check—Officers received a report of a young man lying in the snow. Officers found that the man was lying in the snow because he had overheated from a hot shower. The man, who had sufficiently cooled off, was walked back home. |

DUI—Officers brought an individual into custody under the suspicion of DUI. Upon arrival to the station, officers performed a PBT, and found the driver to be within the legal limit. The driver was warned of the dangers of driving while intoxicated, and subsequently released. |

Taxi Violation—Officers observed a taxi driving with a tail light out and stopped the taxi for being out of compliance. Officers seized the taxi permit and put the taxi out of service until the light had been fixed. Shortly thereafter, the driver showed up to show that the tail light had been fixed. Upon officer inspection the permit was then given back. |

Theft—Officers spoke with a man who was reporting that his personal property had been stolen. Upon speaking with the man, officers learned that the victim had actually gifted the phone to another individual, but now wanted it back. The recipient of the gift agreed to return the gift if it meant the individual who had given them the gift would leave them alone. |

Traffic Crime—Officers responded to a report of a vehicle traveling at approximately 70 mph towards Summer’s Bay. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle at the time of the report, but later located a vehicle matching the description coming back from Summer’s Bay. The driver did not believe he was going 70 mph. The driver was warned about the consequences of speeding. |

Trespass—Officers arrested Wayland Smith, 51 yoa for Criminal Trespass, and two counts Assault 4 after officers responded to a call from a local cannery security team reporting that Smith had violated the trespass he had been advised of just 30 minutes earlier. While officers were escorting Smith the patrol vehicle, he became agitated, and assaulted officers while they were attempting to secure him in the patrol vehicle. |

Welfare Check—Officers reported to the station that they were in contact with an individual stranded on Overland Pass. The stranded individual was at least a mile away from the local quarry. Officers met them at the bottom of Overland drive to ensure that all parties were safe and in good health. |

Suspicious Person/Activity—Officers spoke with an individual who was concerned about their boss’ aggressive demeanor as of late. It was found no laws had been broken, and no workplace policies had been violated, and the complainant did not wish to pursue action, but simply wanted the behavior documented in case it were to escalate. |

Suspicious Person/Activity—Officers responded to a report of a possible break in at a local hotel. Officers spoke to one of the tenants of the hotel, who stated that they had heard someone attempting to break into the room next door, and had heard the intruders threaten to kill the tenant. The tenant stated the noise came from the room next door. Upon checking the room next door, officers found the empty. No surveillance was obtained for the incident, and there was no evidence to support the tenant’s claims. Later, an individual close to the tenant stopped by the station to explain that the tenant was suffering from anxiety/depression, and has a tendency to exaggerate possibly threatening situations due to their paranoia. |

The individual explained that they had a situation in which they were attempting to obtain a restraining order, but worried that may not be enough. Ultimately, the individual just wanted to make officers aware of a possibly dangerous individual in town, and wanted to document incidents involving themselves and the dangerous individual in case there were any future issues. |

Assistance Rendered—Officers received a report that two children had snuck out of their home in the middle of the night. The parents discovered their children missing at around 0530 in the morning, and found them approximately five hours later. The parents wished to have officers discuss the dangers of sneaking out and violating curfew, and also requested to have the children cited for violating curfew. Officers were able to thoroughly convince children that their actions were dangerous, and should not be repeated. |

Officers observed a hole in the roof of the gas station, and contacted the driver of a garbage truck who had made contact with the roof. A civil agreement was reached between the gas station and the company operating the garbage truck. The driver of the garbage truck was cited. |
