NOTICE OF VACANCY
Unalaska City Council Seat B
The City of Unalaska is accepting letters of interest from persons who would like to be considered for appointment to Unalaska City Council Seat CC-B and invite such interested persons to a special council meeting to be held on Thursday, January 9, 2020, at 6:00 p.m., at which time council will make an appointment to fill the vacancy.
The person appointed to Council Seat CC-B will serve until the next regular election, which will be October 6, 2020.
Qualifications for City Council members (UCO § 2.12.020): “No person shall hold the elective office of City Council or be eligible to seek election thereto unless at the time of declaration of candidacy they are a voter in the city who has resided within the city for a period of no less than twelve (12) consecutive months immediately prior to the time of submission of declaration of candidacy. A member of the City Council who ceases to be a voter in the city immediately forfeits office.
