Welcome Message

Welcome to the Unalaska Public Library!

The Unalaska Public Library was founded in 1995 in order to support Unalaska's growing family sector and its vibrant fishing and seafood processing industry.

Growing from humble beginnings using donated materials in the World War II era Burma Road Chapel, the Public Library now occupies a 12,000 square foot facility, which was built in 1999 and expanded and renovated in 2022.

Patrons have access to over 30,000 circulating items, the Aleutian Region Newspaper Collection, free wireless internet, public internet access workstations, as well as seating, study, and meeting facilities. The Unalaska Public Library provides access to the OCLC WorldCat system of interlibrary loan materials.

The library also accepts passport applications, provides free notary services, and can register voters.

We are proud of our library and the services provided to our community.  Stop by and see what we have to offer!
