Ben Knowles - Fire Chief/Director of Fire and Emergency Medical Services - Fire 01
Chief Knowles is a Minnesota native, where he served as a Firefighter/EMT for 6 years before coming to Unalaska. Chief Knowles holds multiple certifications in a wide variety of disciplines. Chief Knowles is also the local Fire Marshal. He is a limited commissioned Peace Officer by the State of Alaska Department of Public Safety and a Certified Fire Investigator.
Angela Mountain - Administrative Assistant II
Angela Mountain was most recently a Communications Officer with Unalaska Department of Public Safety. Angela is currently a volunteer with the Unalaska Fire Department and accepted a full-time position as the Administrative Assistant in 2024.
David Gibson - Captain - A-Shift - Fire 02
Captain Gibson has been with UFD since 2016 starting as a volunteer until accepting a full time position in 2019. Captain Gibson is an Alaska Certified Firefighter II, EMT III, Certified Fire Investigator and Fire and EMS Instructor. Captain Gibson is the A-Shift, shift commander.
