Robert Storrs Harbor
Float Replacement and Reconfiguration Project

The Robert Storrs Boat Harbor was constructed in its current location in 1985, by the State of Alaska, with floats relocated from the spit.  The facility was turned over to the City of Unalaska by the state in 1993.  The City recognizes that the floats are nearing the end of their useful life and recently began searching for funding sources to replace and upgrade the floats.

The City of Unalaska received a grant from the Alaska Department of Transportation and the Public Facility Grant Program to fund a portion of the project.  In February 2013 the City Port Department began working on the scope of the project to replace and reconfigure the floats.  In addition to upgrading the floats, the project will include the addition of year-round access to water and fire suppression equipment, upgraded electrical and increased mooring space.

The City Port Department requests that members of the public review and comment on our consultant's proposed concept designs, which you can find at the link below.  A comment card is also included in order to submit feedback.
