Kid's Programming
Kids Programming Recreation Coordinator: Alia Franklin
Alia Franklin grew up in New Orleans, Louisiana. She graduated from Lafayette High School in May of 2014. All throughout high school, Alia volunteered at her local library and Boys and Girls Club. After high school, she studied Marketing and Public Relations at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. While babysitting her way through college, she realized her passion for working with children. She is looking forward to obtaining her full Bachelor’s in Child Psychology to further her career in Children’s Counseling.
When given the opportunity to be the Youth Program Coordinator at PCR, Alia was excited to implement new and fun activities in the kid's room, as well as in the community. Her love for arts and crafts and being adventurous has allowed her to make an impact with the PCR360 program.
Since Alia moved to Unalaska in December 2021. She has fallen in love with all of the beauty the island has to offer. Outside of work, she enjoys exploring the island with her husband, Angelo, baking homemade goodies, and cooking/sharing Louisiana food.
PCR360:
Each day after school PCR offers PCR360, a fun an innovative schedule of classes for 1st through 4th graders. We do new and exciting activities every month, from weird science to Presidential Youth Fitness Challenges. Every Friday, PCR360 visits the pool for Friday SPLASH and the library for story time. Come out and join the fun!
Summer Playground Program:
Summer is my favorite time of year! I love the warmth, the daylight, and especially the time off from school to get out and play. We will be playing some old favorites (dodge ball, crab soccer, kickball) and introducing some new games to the mix. PCR wants to challenge every kid in Unalaska to come out to the nearest park for Summer Playground Program and enjoy some fun in the, hopefully, Summer Sun. We’ll see you in the parks!
For more information, comments, or concerns about these or any other kid's programs, please contact Alia Franklin at 581-1297.
