The public is invited to attend a public meeting hosted by the City of Unalaska. The purpose of the meeting is to present a project overview and to gather public input, comments, and concerns regarding the planning effort to improve the salmon rearing capacity of the Unalaska Lake drainage basin. The City is developing two plans to improve conditions within Unalaska Lake and the Lower Iliuliuk River. The first plan addresses improving the quality of stormwater runoff within the drainage basin and the second plan will focus on habitat preservation and restoration within the Lower Iliuliuk River.  All interested parties are encouraged to attend.

Questions and comments can be directed to Ms. Kate Mickelson, Staff Engineer, PND Engineers, Inc. at 907-586-2093 or at [email protected].

The Unalaska Lake and Lower Iliuliuk River Restoration project is funded with qualified outer continental shelf oil and gas revenues by the Coastal Impact Assistance Program, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and U.S. Department of the Interior.
