Four Applicants Selected as Candidates for Unalaska City Manager
Unalaska, Alaska, August 14, 2015 – Mayor Shirley Marquardt and the Unalaska City Council are pleased to announce the following four applicants have been selected as candidates for the City Manager of the City of Unalaska. In no particular order, the candidates are:
Erin Reinders, Planning Director, City of Unalaska, Unalaska, AK
David Martinson, Executive VP, Cherokee Nation Technology Solutions, San Antonio, TX
Carey Meyers, Public Works Director, City of Homer, Homer, AK
Tod Larson, Detention Administrator-Lieutenant, Park County Sherriff’s Office, Cody, WY
The Unalaska City Council will conduct in-person interviews on August 27 during a special meeting at times yet to be determined, at Unalaska City Hall. Council will reconvene into an executive session on August 28 to determine which candidate they would like to extend an offer of employment.
Reinders has worked for the City of Unalaska, as Planning Director, since September 2011. Ms. Reinders holds a Bachelor degree in Philosophy and Anthropology, a Master Degree in Urban Affairs and Public Policy, is a Certified Public Manager and is a recognized AICP Planner. Before her tenure with the City of Unalaska, Ms. Reinders worked for the City of Franklin, TN as a Long Range Planning Supervisor.
Martinson has worked for Cherokee Nation Technology Solutions, as Executive Vice President, since September 2014. Mr. Martinson holds a Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Master Degree in Public Administration. Mr. Martinson is a 26 year veteran of United States Air Force receiving the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal, AF Commendation Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal and AF Achievement Medal during his military career.
Meyer has worked for the City of Homer, as Public Works Director, since August 1999. Mr. Meyer holds a Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering and a Master Degree in Public Administration. Mr. Meyer held multiple engineering positions before he began his tenure with the City of Homer.
Larson has worked for the Park County Sheriff’s Office, as Detention Administrator-Lieutenant, since July 2010. Mr. Larson holds a Bachelor degree in Education and a Master Degree in Public Administration. Mr. Larson is a 25 year commissioned officer of the United States Army, holds a Professional Human Resources Certification from the Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM), is a member of Pi Alpha Alpha-National Public Administration Honor Society, and Pi Sigma Alpha-National Political Science Honor Society.
