Substantial Completion Date – September 1, 2014

Final Completion Date – October 1, 2014

Sealed bids will be received until the local time (Alaska) and date specified above and then will be opened and read.  Any bids received after the time and date specified will not be considered.

Work Scope:

The work will include, but not be limited to, furnishing all labor, tools, equipment, and materials and performing all operations in connection with the City of Unalaska PORT LIGHTING UPGRADES:

Remove two (2) existing 150-ft high mast light poles and replace with new 120-ft high mast light poles, anchor rod hardware, and LED fixtures at the UMC City Dock.

Remove two (2) existing 150-ft high mast light poles and replace with new 120-ft high mast light poles, anchor bolt hardware, and LED fixtures at the UMC USCG Dock.

Remove and replace the lowering device, mast assembly, and anchor bolt hardware, and remove and replace the fixtures with new LED fixtures on the two (2) existing 120-ft high mast light pole at the Light Cargo Dock. The existing 120-ft high mast light poles are to be reused.

Remove existing fixtures on fourteen (14) existing light poles and replace with new LED fixtures at the Spit Dock.
Provide power for proposed security cameras to be mounted on four (4) existing light poles at the Spit Dock and Light Cargo Dock.

Port Facilities along Ballyhoo Road; Amaknak Island; Iliuliuk Bay; Dutch Harbor, Alaska

Prevailing Wage Requirements:

Contractor must pay minimum rates of pay as established by the State of Alaska Department of Labor, under AS 36.05.010 and AS 36.10.  A copy of the rates effective for the project is included in the Contract Documents.

Bid Requirements:

Each Bid must be submitted on the prescribed form and accompanied by bid security as prescribed in the Instructions to Bidders, payable to the City of Unalaska, Alaska, in an amount not less than 5 (five) percent of the Total Bid amount.  The successful Bidder will be required to furnish the necessary additional bond(s) for the faithful performance of the Contract, as prescribed in the Bidding/Contract Forms.

A site visit by all Bidders is strongly recommended.

The successful Bidder shall hold such Contractors and Business Licenses as required by State Statutes and City of Unalaska Municipal Code Section 9.30.010.  The right is reserved to reject any or all Bids, to waive informalities or irregularities in the bidding, and to accept bids that are considered to be in the best interest of the City of Unalaska.
