CITY HIRES NEW AQUATICS MANAGER

The City of Unalaska is pleased to announce that Amanda Greaves was recently hired as the Aquatics Manager with the Department of Parks, Culture and Recreation (PCR). 

“Amanda is a hard-working professional and well respected by the community.  I am grateful for Amanda’s dedication to PCR and pleased to see her take advantage of career opportunities afforded to her by the City of Unalaska” said Roger Blakeley, PCR Director.  Amanda Greaves assumed her new role as Aquatics Manager on March 3, 2017, after the resignation of Brina Lynch.

Amanda has worked for the PCR Department since November of 2014 and has held positions of Recreation Assistant, Recreation Youth Coordinator, and Recreation Arts and Culture Coordinator.  Amanda is highly dedicated, organized and enthusiastic individual who is committed to providing exceptional customer service.

Unalaska PCR is a comprehensive parks and recreation department that also provides library services. The department is comprised of four facilities, eight parks and employs 35 individuals.  PCR holds agency memberships with the Alaska Recreation and Park Association and the National Recreation and Park Association.  The department’s vision is to be the most highly recognized, comprehensive, small town park and recreation department in the country.
